| Question: i am a student in a private school in namibia and i am grade 11. I am interested in being a helicopter pilot,but don't know whether i will enjoy it, because i am very adventurous and well i think of myself as very responsible. I dont fail for group pressure and i dont smoke or drind and i am a hard worker and i learn hard. My points was 78% last year(grade 10) the average total of all my subjects. i have maths,languages(afrikaans and English),physics,chemistry,computers(my best subject),accounting,etc...but i dont have geography...

| Becoming a helicopter pilot can certainly be an interesting career. Contact a training center in your area that offers helicopter pilot training and talk with one of the admissions representatives. This can be a good way to find out if your background is a good fit for pursuing this type of career, and may provide you with insight as to what types of classes to take during the rest of your studies. You may also want to get in touch with employers in your area who hire helicopter pilots. They'll probably be very happy to discuss the career opportunity with you. | Once you have submitted your two week resignation, you have officially given up your job. You can talk with your employer and see if he or she is willing to allow you to rescind your resignation. Keep in mind that the employer is under no obligation to allow you to stay, and may even have already hired a replacement. Before you speak with your boss about your desire to stay, be prepared to explain what has made you change your mind. - posted by Mary G. White

| Question: I am a 40-something woman with over 18 years' experience in a field I love -it is, as they say, "my bliss".
Unfortunately, the nature of the business I am in requires regular relocation to stay employed. Until recently, I was fine with that. However, I am finally ready to "settle down", and cannot find employment in my field in the city in which I live. My fiancee cannot, for various reasons, relocate with me.
It's been nearly a year now, and while I have managed to find interim employment in another field, I am getting more and more depressed the longer I am away from what I love.
I've tried various self-assessment tests to see if there's something else I could enjoy doing, but honestly, they all point back to my original path.
What can I do? How can I make peace with the sacrifice of my career - and the thing I love doing more than anything - for a family?

| Hi! Can you tell us more about your current career path? With the growth of technology, is there the ability to work from home in this field or create your own job? Take a few minutes to sit down and list your passions. See if anything pops out that can be done from your current location. Keep in mind many couples do have long distance relationships even while married, so that may be something to consider. Best of luck! - posted by Debbie LaCroix
