| Extending your down spout is a great do it yourself project. There are many kits you can purchase that will make it easier for you to fix it yourself. One easy fix is to purchase a PVC elbow and black flexible tubing to redirect the run-off. For more complicated fixes, you will need to simply extend the spout by connecting a new piece to it with the elbow. The best place to start is your home improvement store. They will be able to recommend the tools and parts you will need. Before heading to the store, meausre the diameter of your down spout so you get the right size. You will also want a hacksaw to be able to cut through the spout. - posted by Debbie LaCroix
