Question: glass baking dish vs. insulated metal one does it make a difference? - posted by 10.0.0.7 Reply

Replies:
Many people prefer one type of baking dish over the other. Food cooked in glass baking dishes tends to brown more evenly on the top than those cooked in metal pans. Foods baked in metal pans tend to form crust around the bottom to a greater extent than those prepared in glass. If the recipe you're using calls for a particular type of pan, it's a good idea to follow the instructions provided. Otherwise, just use the type of pan that you prefer. - posted by Mary G. White

Question: plastic taste - posted by 10.0.0.7 Reply

Are you asking about how to keep food from having a plastic taste? If so, it's important to understand that food stored in plastic for an extended period of time can sometimes develop a plastic taste. If you are having this problem with foods you are storing in the refrigerator, you may need to use glass containers instead of plastic. If this issue is developing with foods that you freeze, you may want to consider wrapping the items you are storing in foil or wax paper before placing them in the freezer. If I've misunderstood your inquiry, please post more details so I can help with your question. Thanks! - posted by Mary G. White
Question: How do I keep a hard boiled egg yolk from turning green? - posted by Ann M. Reply

Replies:
To keep your egg yolks bright yellow to deep orange instead of green, the trick is in both the type of egg you select and how you cook it. Free range chickens, backyard egg raisers, and organic eggs offer the darkest orange yolks to begin with – helping to maintain the authentic egg yolk color when boiled. Then, when it comes time to cook, make sure you do not overcook. The best method is to boil the eggs at a light rapid boil for exactly 12 minutes and immediately remove the pot running cold water over the eggs. - posted by Debbie Vasen
