Some Tips to Make Hair Grows Faster

Does the health of my hair impact the growth rate?

If you have damaged hair resulting in split or dry ends, this will not result in a slower growth rate. More importantly, though, is whether you want to be growing out damaged hair in the first place. While it may seem counterintuitive to cut your hair for faster growth, you are better off removing bad hair now. Get a trim and start growing out healthier hair.

Should I change my diet?

Your hair is made up of protein. Give your hair the fuel it needs by getting enough protein in your diet. Eating fish is your best option as it contains protein along with oils that benefit your hair. Along with protein, increase your intake of vitamins A, B, C and E. Some foods rich in one or more of these vitamins are:

  • Dairy products
  • Spinach
  • Bananas
  • Tomatoes
  • Nuts
  • Whole grains.

Will stress and worry impact my hair growth?

Studies show that stress can slow your hair growth. Start by not stressing about your hair growth - you’ll get to the length you want eventually. Then look for other ways to lower stress. Your hair and the rest of your body will thank you.

Should I wash my hair more often?

Keeping your hair clean will provide a better environment for growth. Your biggest concern should be oily roots and build-up from hair products. To keep your hair clean, shampoo at least once a day and more often if you exercise frequently.

You should clean your hair brush every so often. A dirty brush will negate all the cleaning you do in the shower.

Does it matter what kind of shampoo I use?

As your hair becomes longer, that means your hair is older. Be kind to your older hair by using a gentle shampoo. Try and find one that is formulated for your hair type. You may want to consider using a more expensive brand. Ask your hair stylist what he or she recommends. In addition to gentle shampoo, use a leave-in conditioner once per week, and twice if you have the time. Try to avoid blow drying and hot curling irons whenever possible.

Will a scalp massage help?

You need blood flow to bring the nutrients to your hair. Increase the circulation to your scalp by giving (or receiving) a scalp massage. You don’t need any special equipment. Simply run your fingers along your scalp. Do this in the shower or while relaxing. If you want to get even more fancy, tip your head upside down (be careful) and get the hair closest to your head. While in this position, brush your hair.

Should I exercise?

Exercise won’t directly impact your hair growth, but it will assist with other factors that will help. Working out gets the heart pumping which increases your circulation. It is also a great way to burn off stress.

What about sleep?

Your body more easily grows and repairs itself while you are asleep. Getting plenty of shut-eye should be considered part of the essential tips to make hair grows faster.
