Wedding Day Beauty Tips

Finding the Perfect Wedding Dress

The center point of your beauty on your wedding day is your dress! Every bride dreams of having the perfect dress. Out of all the wedding day beauty tips you receive, remember to give yourself enough time to find your dream dress.

  • Drive to a larger city and visit some bridal departments
  • Don’t forget the local boutiques hidden in small towns
  • Browse through magazines and mark the ones you like
  • If you can’t find what you love, consider having a dress custom made
  • Leave yourself plenty of time for multiple alterations to make sure you have the perfect fit

Shoes Complete the Dress

Your shoes need to be both beautiful and comfortable.

As with any beautiful dress, finding the right shoes is important. You may spend days looking for the perfect shoes to go with your wedding dress. While trying them on, chances are you will be more focused on how they look with the dress, than comfort. Keep in mind that you will wear these shoes all day. It is hard to be a graceful bride when your feet are killing you.

Here are some solutions:

  • Look at both comfort and style when trying on shoes. Walk around the store to see if they begin to hurt your feet. You need to make it through pictures, up and down the aisle, and through a reception.
  • Wear your shoes at home a few weeks before the wedding. Take time to break them in.
  • If you can’t find a pair of both comfortable and stylish shoes, buy a pair of wedding slippers for the reception. We can all handle pain for a little while, just not all day.

Have a Professional Style Your Hair

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You want everything to be perfect. Now is the perfect time to spend extra money on having a professional hair dresser style your hair.

If you already have a beautician who does your hair, ask her to schedule your wedding day to work. Some stylists will come to your home if you ask (and pay extra).

It can also be fun to set up appointments for your bridesmaids so you can all have your hair done at the same time.

Practice First

Once you have your veil, decide how you want to wear your hair. Since you will be rushed for time on your wedding day, schedule an appointment a week or two before the wedding for a practice hair rehearsal. During this time, experiment with wearing your hair both up and down.

Take your veil with you and see how it fits into the hair style.

Once you agree on the style you want for your wedding day, take a few pictures from different angles to bring with you on the morning of your big day. This will help both you and your stylist remember what you liked.

Wear a Button Down Shirt

When you get dressed the morning of your wedding, choose a button down shirt. Avoid any outfits that will need to go over your head and ruin your hair and makeup when you change into your dress.

Employ A Professional to Do Your Makeup

If you are not comfortable putting on makeup or want to try something new, hire a professional to either give you wedding makeup advice, or to do it for you!

Like with your hair, meet with them a week or two before the big day to choose your colors and practice.

Get a Manicure

Your hands will be a center point during your wedding.

A beautiful bride needs beautiful nails for showing off her wedding ring. If you have enough time on your wedding day, have a manicure in the morning. If you have an earlier wedding, have one the day before.

French manicures are classy and you won’t have to worry about chipped polish.

Remember, this is your day. Everyone you meet will give you wedding day beauty tips. Use the ones that you feel you will benefit from most.
